Portishead came into the game after a loss last week to promotion chasers this season Corsham town, they faced Bristol Telephones last season the sides shared the spoils with a win each.
Portishead started the game on the front foot and after 6 minutes went one up when a corner from Louis Elliot was headed home by Paddy Royal. Not content with that Portishead pushed for a second, and that came on 12 minutes when after a neat bit of play down the right hand side the ball found its way back to Louis Elliot who whipped a cross into the 6 yard box for midfielder Luke Coghlan to tap home. Bristol Telephones fought through the rest of the first half and had a man sin binned on 35 minutes, and been pegged back for most of the half didn’t test Portishead’s goal.
The two sides came out in the second half Portishead looking to finish off their rivals and Bristol Telephones trying to get a foothold on the game. It wasn’t until the 81st minute when Portishead sealed all three points when a ball from Jack Sell played in Dan Parslow for him to find the bottom corner and Portishead to take the points. Star man Paddy Royal.
