Goalkeeper
Booner has been No.1 GK at the club now for 3 seasons. He’s in his second spell with Portishead after being brought back to the club by the current manager Eamonn Daly.
The big dog is a fantastic shot stopper and is always striving to improve his game.
Defender / Midfield
Hamish belies his young age of 21, he was already excelling at men’s football when he broke through at 16. Despite moving to University in Cardiff, Hamish has stayed loyal to Portishead Town. Every year he grows in ability and although only 21 he has tremendous experience at this level.
He can play anywhere in the back line and even in centre midfield, although predominately a defender Hamish also has an eye for goal.
Defender
Elliot joined us this season after playing for Risca in Wales whilst at University. He is a very composed ball playing centre half.
Elliot is currently skipper of the side and with his will to win and competitive edge he makes a great leader on and off the pitch.
Defender
Caolan is a successful product of the Portishead youth system, first breaking into the first team at 17 years old whilst mostly developing with the reserves he has now cemented himself as a first team regular.
Caolan has fine attributes, he’s great in the air, quick and a very accomplished ball player.
Defender / Forward
Chapper’s is currently the longest serving first team player at the club.
He has great experience at this level and his adaptability means he regularly plays at centre half as well as been able to play at centre forward if needed. He’s strong in the air with two good feet, a real asset to the current set up.
Defender
Sam has become a regular in the first team this year.
Usually plays at left back and with his electric pace he’s a threat going forward but that pace is matched by his strength, which makes him a formidable opponent for any player trying to get the better of him.
Defender
Krystian is playing his first season in mens football and has already a number of impressive displays at RB under his belt. Strong for his age and looks to get forward at pace delivering quality crosses into the box.
Another product of our successful youth set up who will hopefully be a big future player for Portishead.
Midfield
Ethan blasted onto the first team scene last year at the age of 18.
Although small in stature this doesn’t stop him winning balls in the centre midfield area with his Jack Russell type of tenacity. He’s extremely busy and has a wonderful eye for a pass along with chipping in with the odd spectacular goal.
Midfield / Forward
Lewis has belatedly broken into the first team this season, another lad who has come through the juniors into adult football.
His decision to dedicate himself this year is paying dividends. A very strong lad who can dominate the pitch with his physical presence and that coupled with a craft and guile with the ball at his feet. He can create a chance from nothing with his clever vision and is also partial to a goal himself.
Midfield
Luke is the epitome of a tough tackling centre midfielder. He plays with ferocity and a will to win to match. He sets the standards in terms of effort on the pitch, very understated as he does all the ugly stuff in the game that rarely gets noticed.
He’s been an integral part of the side for three seasons and has also chipped in with a few important goals in that time too.
Midfield
James is another lad to come through the youth set up and has served his time in the ‘A’ team and the reserves before getting his chance to impress with the first team. He’s grabbed this opportunity with both hands and is already looking like his played this level for years.
He’s very strong in possession and is always looking to create. Another lad who has a big future at the club.
Midfield
Sam joined the club in the summer and impressed straight away. A big strong lad with a great eye for a pass. He has all the attributes to be a key player for Portishead and has already shown us his great attitude in starting the season in the reserves to work on his fitness.
A great addition to the club and has settled in straight away.
Defender / Midfield
Terry is a recent new signing from Tytherington. He’s a diverse player who can play anywhere in the back line and also in midfield.
Terry brings a good physical presence to the side and is also very accomplished on the ball. Terry has been used in a number of positions already which makes him a very useful asset.
Midfield / Forward
Calum came back to Portishead in the summer after a successful spell at Ashton & Backwell. He’s been a long term target for the management team and we were delighted to finally get his signature.
He is an extremely skilful player who’s always looking to get on the ball to create goal scoring opportunities for him and his team mates. He’s direct, quick and a real thorn in the side of defenders.
Midfield
Joe has recently come back to the club on a dual registration with Mangotsfield Utd.
Joe was with Portishead for the previous two seasons before stepping up to test himself at Southern League level.
He is a box to box midfielder always looking to get on the ball and make things happen. An extremely talented attacking midfielder with an absolute rocket of a shot. A very important asset to Portishead and is a huge goal threat from midfield.
Wide Midfield/ Forward
Josh came through the youth ranks and immediately impressed in his first season in adult football. He made is first team debut last year at 17 years old and scored on his first start in the Fa Vase.
Although slight in size he never shirks a challenge, he is speedy, skilful and a good eye for goal.
Josh is beginning to be a regular in the first team squad and his work ethic will ensure he’s a big part player in the coming seasons.
Wide Midfield / Forward
Dan has returned to Portishead this season after a short spell away. He’s come back with a great attitude and a willingness to work hard.
His versatility allows him to play in the wide role or as a No.9. His quick feet and good finishing always makes him a goal threat.
Wide Midfield / Forward
Dawid has recently signed for his second spell at the club. He has settled in quickly and his direct style of play is always causing the opposition defenders problems.
As well as creating chances from out wide he is adding diversity to his game proving to be a goal threat himself.
Forward
Rob is another player who has returned to the club this season. Already proving to be a great asset.
He has a second to none attitude to work rate never giving up the cause in his quest for goals. As a number 9 he has all the attributes to become a top player at this level and is always looking to improve his game.
A great signing for the club who will hopefully drive the club onto success.
