Match Summary
After last weeks washout Posset were determined to pick up some much needed points against high flying Shrewton, manager Willis brought in young full back Nick Sloane and went after their visitors with a 4-4-2 set up.

Right from the kick off Posset attacked their visitors and the front 2 of Lynch and Kelly were causing problems with their movement, with horrendous conditions underfoot as well as high swirling winds the game was full of free flowing football.

Posset took the lead after 15 minutes when a fine Lynch corner was flicked on and Kelly finished well at the far post, Posset had 2 fine opportunities to increase their lead but Mapstone and Marsden were not able to find the net when very well placed.

Posset's second duly arrived after 35 minutes when a brilliantly whipped in delivery by skipper Holder was poked into his own net by an unfortunate Shrewton defender. Keeper Ganfield then saved bravely at the feet of the dangerous Jesse Walters to keep Posset 2 goals to the good at half time.

The second period was just as good as the first but Posset were struck a blow when the impressive Nick Moore had to be replaced because of hamstring trouble, immediately following the team change Shrewton were back in the game when star striker Dean Foot rounded an exposed Ganfield to reduce the arrears.
Posset were now hanging on and a series of freekicks and corners were well defended, time and agin though Posset hit their visitors on the break and but for poor finishing from Lynch and Mapstone would have had the game wrapped up, Posset made it 3-1 when the evergreen Holder struck a fine volley from a tremendous Brice cross.

Shrewton instantly hit back when Shuttleworth hit a fine 18 yard shot into the roof of the net, it made for a nervy last 10 minutes but Posset held firm for an important 3 point haul.
