Portishead manager Dave Willis kept faith with youth for this visit of the high flying team from Wiltshire despite the return of veteran skipper Cleve Holder Posset still had 5 teenagers in the squad and these promising youngsters seem to be getting to grips with the rigours of the Toolstation league.
With debutant keeper James Halewood standing in for suspended Ganfield Posset started very brightly and Cleary and Marsden were soon bossing the midfield and with only 10 minutes gone striker Kelly was presented with a glorious chance to open the scoring but just failed to get a touch to a Mapstone cross.
Skipper Cleve Holder saw another opportunity go to waste when his free header from a Andy Lynch freekick flew over the away teams crossbar, at the other end Westbury had several dangerous looking corners well dealt with by Halewood and his defenders.
The second period got underway and the visitors were soon in the lead when a well placed long ball caught Posset's centre halves ball watching and the lively Westbury striker nipped in to beat Halewood from close range, this seemed to kick start Posset into action and Mapstone in particular started to show what ability he has to offer when time and again he easily beat the Westbury full back only for his final ball to let him down.
Posset got back on level terms with 10 minutes remaining when a well worked move saw Holder's cross shot bundled over his own line by a Westbury defender under intense pressure from Kieron Marsden.
Both teams had chances to win the game in the dying minutes but the draw was a fair result on the day
