Juniors 0 Colts 3
Juniors undeafeted record ends after 1,140 days!
Portishead Juniors under 14’s suffered their first defeat in 1,140 days of competitive football spanning almost three years! Their opponents Shire Colts dominated the first half and went into the break three goals ahead. Nothing went well for the hosts during this period including a clear handled goal. To their credit Juniors responded extremely well and were the better team in the second half. The introduction of Sam Parsons
helped their cause as they created five one on one opportunities against the visiting keeper, but couldn’t convert any which in the end proved costly. Man of the match Daniel McCorquodale was excellent at the back with Joseph Sands
making several good saves. In the midfield Jacob Weekes
stood out and combined well with Ethan Monks
who opened up the Colts defence on numerous occasions. As the game to a close both Harri Battista
and Isaac Rylett went close but despite a second half clean sheet Juniors couldn’t find a breakthrough.
