Portishead Juniors under 14's travelled to Thornbury Town for their first league game of the season. Juniors started brightly and forced several corners but it was Town who went closest to breaking the deadlock as a shot flashed across the visitors goal. It was Juniors who took the lead with Rory Moir converting from a corner on 10 minutes. The hosts reacted well and within 15 minutes were 2-1 ahead as Juniors defending left a lot to be desired. Then the move of the half saw Nattress release Parsons who crossed for Booker to shoot with Rylett getting the final touch to equalise. With minutes of the half remaining Town took a deserved lead as Juniors missed several tackles at the back. To their credit the visitors looked a different proposition in the second half, Dunn and Booker started to control the midfield with Brand impressing in holding midfield. Goals direct from a Booker corner and a Nattress strike from distance completed a great comeback to secure the win. Man of the match Moir made a game wining tackle late on supported well by Jones, Chichester and McCorquodale at the back. Battista in goal was a safe pair of hands with a special mention to Wade who played in numerous positions as Juniors took home the 3 points.
